Genius aspiring actress creates completely professional DIY reel
Updated: Oct 18, 2021
Heather had heard you need a reel if you want to get anywhere in the entertainment industry. But she wasn't about to be scammed into paying anybody to create one for her. Especially when she figured it was possible to do it yourself, using some kind of computer program or something.
"When I started, I didn't know anything about editing film and all that stuff, but it's so easy once you get into it," she said, yawning after having spent four consecutive nights without sleep trying to learn effing QuickTime and iMovie. "Think of the money saved!"
Having also been told it might be a good idea to take a look at a few professional reels, she dipped in briefly, quickly realizing her own best clip (a self-tape on her phone) didn't compare favorably to others' clips from feature films and popular TV series.
"Who cares what everyone else is doing anyway?" she asked, tapping her stellar acting skills to make the rhetorical question sound believable. "I'm sure my DIY reel will make an impression."
